The summer is coming to an end and so has my wonderful time in Barcelona. I still have lots to post from the beautiful city (if I don’t get lazy) but for now it’s back to Toulouse.
Street Lamp
Sometimes it’s in the details and it’s the small things in a big city that get your attention. This is just an average street lamp in Barcelona. It, among many other things, makes me think of how the city was a century ago. This particular one is from one of the parks at the very north of the city. You can see St. George’s cross on the coat of arms of the city, something I didn’t know just a few months ago.
Barcelona in the Morning
Sunset from Montjuic
Montjuic is a hill in barcelona, originally not the part of the city but the growing population and expansion of Barcelona has absorbed it. Montjuic has an interesting role in the city’s history, from the time of when it had to defend itself in medieval times to the times of the Spanish civil war. Nowadays, apart from its many attractions it hosts an open air movie theatre during the summers. I snapped the photo on my way to the viewing of a movie. You can see MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya) in Plaça d’Espanya on the left corner of the photograph.
Cricket
It’s not often you see people playing cricket in Europe. It got my attention as I was walking through the Parc de la Ciutadella in Barcelona; the atmosphere seemed serious but at the same time very fun. I wish I knew the proper rules.
