Get lost in Bratislava

The title is a little deceptive as it is nearly impossible to get lost in Bratislava’s tiny city centre. But if you do get lost this isn’t a bad spot to do so!

Selecting a picture to upload is becoming more challenging as I do want to share my new stuff but there’s just too much of the old pics I’ve never gotten a chance to share. Going at a rate of 2 pics/week is just too damn slow. So I’ll try to post more often but the upcoming exams might have a different view on this matter.

Just another canal

It’s funny how when one spends some time in one place it could become easy to lose some of the original fascination brought by the introduction. These canals in Bruges are amazing and it’s an absolute pleasure to walk along them or take a boat ride in. But after a significant time into a long walk the initial reaction of heartwarming astonishment and amazement could slowly turn into a “oh look it’s another canal”.
Looking at it in retrospect seems to always bring back the original awe. I guess it takes stepping away from something to regain the appreciation, be that physically or maybe mentally right there on the spot.

Piazza panorama in Rome

I absolutely love panoramic shots. Sometimes a single shot alone isn’t enough to transmit the feeling of how it’s like to be standing in front of a plaza or looking down at a city skyline from a tower or a hill. They’re great at painting a bigger picture but they can also be fun to zoom into sometimes to explore the scene, those frozen moments of people going about their business.

Panoramic shots are so cool that I’ve decided to add a separate link to the sidebar on the right to group them together. Hopefully I’ll be posting more of them. (Click on the pic to enlarge or download the full size)

The art of flight

It’s one of those days when my mind doesn’t wanna be where my body is. The majority of my day is taken hostage by the economic interpretations of welfare, demand forecasting and business operations optimization for organizations which I don’t even remotely care for. Where my body wants to be is on this picture. I rarely take my camera up the mountain and when I do I almost never use it because I’m just too busy having fun.

I came down the same run but sadly went around these rocks. As I stopped for a breather I looked back to see what I missed out on and saw this skier go for it. The mini slide certainly makes for a dramatic landing.

City everyone loves

Barcelona is one of those cities that people always speak highly of, at least in my circles. Despite being to Barca a few times I feel like I don’t quite know the city well enough like I’ve never experienced it the way it meant to be. Or maybe my curiosity is just lusting for more, for something else so I could form my own opinion. But If Catalonian hospitality and the people I’ve met are anything to judge by it just might be my kinda city. (As always press the pic to enlarge or download the full size)
