This is in Split, Croatia. There are many beautiful cities along the Croatian coast, but Split has got to be one of my favourites. Not only for its awing historic city center but also its liveliness. I was walking along one of the central roads down to the beach and saw this interesting old man heading my way. Despite needing crutches he still walked gracefully, beaming with confidence. The type that comes from knowledge, like he knew something I didn’t. He put his head down as soon as he saw me grab the handle of my cam.
The Spasskaya Tower, Moscow
This is The Spasskaya Tower (Спасская башня), one of the many beautiful sights on The Red Square (Красная площадь), which it overlooks. It was already 10 pm (as you can see on the Klremlin Clock) when it was starting to get dark and it looked like it was going to rain. I thought the tower looked cool reaching into the conspiring clouds.
This also is a good example of what HDR does. Here are the 3 shots with different exposures. The first is the normal one.
And here’s the end result.
Bell Tower in Hvar, Croatia
I feel like I’ve taken million of photos along the Croatian coast, from Istra to Dalmatia, despite trying to limit myself a little bit. This is a St Stephen’s Cathedral and bell tower on the island Hvar. This was one of those times when my lens was not wide enough to capture the whole building, so I had to do a bit of stitiching. Six pictures to be precise, 3 exposures per shot.
Gobi Desert Sunset
This is just on the edge of the northern Gobi desert in Mongolia. My travel companions and I were on the road most of the day to make it to the desert. By the time we stopped to pitch a tent the sun was setting down. Couldn’t have asked for a better a view and a more dramatic introduction to this truly beautiful part of the world.
Bicycle Ride (Beijing)
Well it’s been a while since my last post. All the moving around has kept me away from posting. I’m now finally settled in my new apartment with a proper internet connection. As I said I’ve been travelling in recent months and have taken tons of new pics all over the world.
This one is in Beijing in of its many hutongs, which make Beijing so unique, at least in my eyes. Traffic in Beijing is quite intense, like in many big asian cities, and getting in the mix of it on a bike is fun. It’s a nice way to explore the city.
San Sebastian
Since I’m already in my “Spain” folder (thanks to my previous post) I might as well post another one. This is also from the north. It is a typical street full of people on a cloudy spring day in a small coastal city of San Sebastian. These little cute streets are so inviting that all you want to do is just keep walking. No surprise that even on a chilly day the streets, its shops and bars have no lack of people passing through.
