Piazza panorama in Rome

I absolutely love panoramic shots. Sometimes a single shot alone isn’t enough to transmit the feeling of how it’s like to be standing in front of a plaza or looking down at a city skyline from a tower or a hill. They’re great at painting a bigger picture but they can also be fun to zoom into sometimes to explore the scene, those frozen moments of people going about their business.

Panoramic shots are so cool that I’ve decided to add a separate link to the sidebar on the right to group them together. Hopefully I’ll be posting more of them. (Click on the pic to enlarge or download the full size)

The art of flight

It’s one of those days when my mind doesn’t wanna be where my body is. The majority of my day is taken hostage by the economic interpretations of welfare, demand forecasting and business operations optimization for organizations which I don’t even remotely care for. Where my body wants to be is on this picture. I rarely take my camera up the mountain and when I do I almost never use it because I’m just too busy having fun.

I came down the same run but sadly went around these rocks. As I stopped for a breather I looked back to see what I missed out on and saw this skier go for it. The mini slide certainly makes for a dramatic landing.

City everyone loves

Barcelona is one of those cities that people always speak highly of, at least in my circles. Despite being to Barca a few times I feel like I don’t quite know the city well enough like I’ve never experienced it the way it meant to be. Or maybe my curiosity is just lusting for more, for something else so I could form my own opinion. But If Catalonian hospitality and the people I’ve met are anything to judge by it just might be my kinda city. (As always press the pic to enlarge or download the full size)

Pre-sunset stroll

I’m back again to the Juan de Fuca trail. Back not only to the folder that contains the trail pictures to be uploaded but back in a way these pictures do take me back sometimes. This was very close to our first campsite just about 8 kms from the start of the trail (I know we took it easy that day). My mates and I decided to go for a little stroll along the coast and that’s when I caught the shot, as the sun was hiding behind the tree.

Canuck

This one of the many canucks fans that came out onto the streets of Vancouver during the 2011 Stanley Cup finals. This particular picture was taken during the game 5 victory. A truly emotional and a special time for the city. This guy’s face says it all really.
