Street in Lijiang
Lijiang is a place with lots of history and is mostly known for its cute, very Chinese city center. Its streets are probably how an average foreigner imagines old China must have looked like. Evidently it’s a place packed with tourists, both foreign and local trying get a taste of an escaping part of China.
Man in Dunhuang
I’ve decided to make this week a China week. In my short time there I have managed to travel from east all the way to its western borders and back. It’s a massive country and only after having done the trip I’ve truly realized how massive and diverse it is. This is in Dunhuang, in the Gansu province. Dunhuang is a tiny city by Chinese standards and is a part of China where things seem to be going at a slower pace.
Cossack in Kiev
I passed by him as he was playing on the street for money. He had a very judgemental and aggressive expression, like he was angry with people for giving him money. Or maybe it was just an emotion that came with the song.
Boat in Zadar
Zadar, Croatia has a very cool seawall around its city center. It’s not a very long walk but a very pleasant one, especially when the sun is going down.
Old man in Split
This is in Split, Croatia. There are many beautiful cities along the Croatian coast, but Split has got to be one of my favourites. Not only for its awing historic city center but also its liveliness. I was walking along one of the central roads down to the beach and saw this interesting old man heading my way. Despite needing crutches he still walked gracefully, beaming with confidence. The type that comes from knowledge, like he knew something I didn’t. He put his head down as soon as he saw me grab the handle of my cam.
